Music strategy for brands and artists.

From pre-cleared catalog licensing to a full sonic identity system — Sound Check, Sound Identity, and Sound Partner. Playbutton provides music licensing and sonic branding for brands and agencies, and no-fee sync representation for independent artists and writers.

For brands & agencies
Catalog Licensing

Pre-cleared, broadcast-ready music for film, TV, advertising, and brand content. Every track is one-stop — a single license covers both the composition and the master, with no additional rights holders to clear. Human-authored, with stems and alt-mixes included.

Sound Check

A written audit of how your brand currently uses sound — across advertising, social, video, and every other place a customer hears you. What's working, what's inconsistent, what's missing, and what a deliberate sonic identity would look like for you. One deliverable, flat fee, delivered in 10 business days.

Sound Identity

A complete sonic identity, scoped to your brand. Sonic direction document, a curated music toolkit your content team can pull from, and a custom-composed audio logo or brand cue. Built for consistency across advertising, social, video, and retail — the audio equivalent of a visual brand system.

Sound Partner

We become your music department. Ongoing supervision for brands producing consistent content — briefing, sourcing, licensing, clearance, and maintaining sonic consistency as your output scales.

For artists & writers
Sync Representation

We pitch your music for sync. You keep everything you own.

Playbutton represents independent artists and writers for sync placements — brands, advertising, film, TV, and games.

  • No fee for representation. Ever. Not to submit, not to be listed, not to renew.
  • 50/50 on the sync fee, and only on placements we secure. If we don't place it, we don't get paid.
  • You keep 100% of your masters and 100% of your publishing. Playbutton takes no ownership.
  • Your backend is entirely yours — PRO, mechanicals, neighboring rights, SoundExchange. We don't register it and we don't touch it.
  • Non-exclusive. Keep pitching your own catalog, keep your other relationships.

Our goal is to make money landing placements, not charging artists to sit in a catalog.

How much does it cost to license a track?

It depends on how you're using it. Content creator licenses (YouTube, podcasts, social), brand licenses for advertising and campaigns, and film, TV, and streaming productions are all priced differently by use case — reach out and we'll quote it directly. Sound Identity and Sound Partner work is scoped to your project.

What's included in a sync license?

One-stop clearance — both master and publishing rights are cleared in a single transaction — plus stems and alt-mixes included as standard, so post teams have flexibility without extra licensing fees.

How fast can I get a track licensed?

Catalog tracks are pre-cleared and available for instant licensing. Custom work like bespoke composition or sonic branding is scoped to a brief and timeline.

Is Playbutton's music AI-generated?

No. Every track in the catalog is 100% human-authored — composed and recorded by real musicians.

Do you represent artists for sync placements?

Yes, through Sync Representation. No fee to the artist, ever — 50/50 on the sync fee, and only on placements we secure. Artists keep 100% of their masters and 100% of their publishing; Playbutton takes no ownership.
